Bulletin – August 2022

His Holiness Srimad Samyamindra Tirtha Swamiji Mathadhipathi of Sree Kashimath Samsthan Varanasi started their Subhakritha Nama Samvatsara Chathurmasa Vritha 2022 at Shree Venkataramana Temple, Mangalore on 18th July 2022. It is an opportunity for all of us to have darshan of Lord Venkatramana, and get blessings from our Parmpoojaneeya Mathadheesh.

The month of August is always a month of celebration for Trivandrum Samajiks. We are celebrating our 36th Annual day celebrations on 15th August. This is the occasion to remember and pay reverence to our beloved Guruvarya Srimad Sudheendra Tirtha Swamiji. It was because of His “Grace”, we have an avenue in Trivandrum to gather together and commemorate our festivals and keep on with our rich, traditional culture. Remembering and paying rich tributes to our stalwart leaders, who had contributed their time and energy over the years, striving to gather all Samajiks together and for leading the community.

Birthdays are the check points for taking stock of all the activities, events and creating resolutions and strategies for the future. The last two years, unfortunately, our Samajik activities were affected due to the pandemic. The digital platform came as a blessing for the entire manhood. In the sphere of education, entertainment, meetings, business and what not, this new concept has created a revolution. We were able to conduct  GSB related important functions online, so that Samajiks could participate, sitting in their homes. However, from the month of October 2021, we started our Sabha activities during Mannami Brahman, and were able to streamline our regular monthly activities. The participation of Samajiks started increasing in a geometric proportion. This is a positive signal from the Samajiks that gatherings are much appreciated and needed.

Trivandrum, the capital city of Kerala, the bureaucratic centre where education is given utmost importance, our community always marked their presence most of the time. We are proud to announce that our children have always excelled their performance in education. The ISC results announced has declared Sivani S Prabhu, d/o Srinivas Prabhu( ISRO) and Rekha Prabhu as the Second rank holder in All India level, scoring 99.5%. “Kudos” to Sivani S Prabhu. You have made the entire GSB community proud. The results of other streams are coming in. We are expecting wonderful results.

For the last two years, due to the pandemic restrictions, we could not directly celebrate the rituals and functions at our Prarthana Mandir. Details of functions in the month of August are given below.

“Rig Upakarma” will be held on 2nd August. Rig Upakarma is usually held on the full moon tidhi, Shravan nakshatra during the Shravan month. This year there is a small technical issue, as the nakshatra and tidhi does not coincide. Hence under the Ordain of our Kashi Mathadheesh Samyameendra Thirtha Swamiji, this ritual will be held on 2nd August, on the Nagapanchami day. Brahmacharis and Grihasthas, please participate in this havan.

Shree Varalakshmi Vritha pooja, falls on Friday, 5th August. Our Vanitha Vibhag is organising “Varalakshmi pooja” and archana that day at Narasimhavilas at 5.30 pm. Sumangalees are requested to participate.

The 36th annual day celebrations of our Sabha is on 15th August. A variety of programs and celebrations are planned for the day. Our Yuva Vibhag is organising competitions and cultural programs.

Vanitha Vibhag is arranging some special programs for the day. “Vishnu Sahasranama Pooja” and Samaradhana will be there as usual. Let us participate and celebrate this day with joy and enjoyment, which we missed for the last two years.

Sree Krishna Janmashtami falls on Thursday, 18th August.  We are celebrating Ashtami Vritha Pooja with Panchamrith abhisheka, and Argyapradanam in the evening.

The  Sabha annual day celebrations is on Sunday, 21st of August. Pooja starts at 9.30 am with Sree Vishnu Sahasranama Parayan, followed by a special Bhajan programme.  After pooja and Arathy, Annual day meeting will be held. During this function, our students will be felicitated for their academic excellence.

We request all students who have passed SSLC, plus two, and other streams to furnish copies of mark list and passport size photograph immediately to the Sabha secretary. It may be deposited in the post box situated at the entrance of Sree Narasimhavilas.

The last function in this month is Vinayaka Chathurthy (Ganeshotsavam) on Wednesday, 31st August. Our GSB community had started the Ganesh Nimanjan yathra in Trivandrum, years back. This day was joyously celebrated with Mahaganapathi homa, samaradhana and the Nimanjan yathra to Shanghumukham, over the years. From the year 2019, the condition of Shanghumukham beach became unfavourable, and the Government imposed restrictions. This year also, there are restrictions for the Nimanjan yathra. But, we will be celebrating the day with Mahaganapathi homam and Samaradhana.
